Welcome to the Woodbridge School chess website. Woodbridge is a leading co-educational independent school in the heart of beautiful Suffolk. In 2000, Director of Teaching and Learning, Biology teacher and chess enthusiast Dr John Wharam moved to the area and set up a chess club at the school. Chess interest exploded and three years later, International Master Adam Hunt was appointed to start teaching chess lessons during the day. We haven’t looked back and chess continues to be one of the most popular activities at Woodbridge, with a number of regional and national champions being produced.
